For many years the Punta Verde Zoo has focused on an educational program to inform its visitors of the animals origins, natural habitat and diet with information cards, workshops, films and guided tours. Conservation of the species is guaranteed through a high standard of maintenance, participation in conservation projects and research through collaboration with scientific institutes and universities. A team of keepers look after the animals on a daily basis and their duties range from cleaning to feeding, their work is supported by several vets who constantly monitor the animals' health. Punta Verde is constantly working to improve the animals conditions and enrich their enviorment.
The zoo is located near the Tagliamento River and its landscaped grounds are a pleasure to stroll around. The farm collection of animals will keep younger children happy. The zoo is privately run and its only funding is provided by the entrance fee.
